POSITION: MARINA WORKER (student)

HOURS OF WORK: 36.25 hours per week

LOCATION:
Crysler Park Marina and Beach
(9 km east of Morrisburg)

SALARY: $11.40 or $12.25 per hour

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: mid-May to September 4, 2017 OR mid-June to September 4, 2017

DUTIES:

To carry out a variety of marina/beach-related duties such as pumping fuel to boats, emptying garbage containers, cleaning washrooms and showers, mowing lawns, weeding flower beds, cleaning seaweed, cleaning windows and floors in the marina building, operating cash register, MasterCard and Visa terminals, completing such paperwork as dockage forms, daily cash balance sheets, fuel pump readings, etc.; to support customer service initiatives by greeting boaters, assisting them when they arrive, transporting cruise line passengers to and from Upper Canada Village and the Upper Canada Golf Course, etc. Other duties, as required: prepare and serve food and beverages in an outdoor patio environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to operate (or willingness to learn how to operate) a VHF radio; good communication and customer service skills to deal effectively with staff and the public; physical ability to carry out manual labour such as cleaning, pumping fuel, mowing, weeding, etc.; willingness to attend training sessions; willingness to wear a uniform, keeping it in proper condition at all times; good knowledge of water and boating safety practices; valid driver’s licence may be required; willingness to work variable hours, including shift work, weekends and holidays; willingness to take First Aid and CPR certification training if required.
