If you like adventure, love spending time outdoors and interacting with the public, join a dynamic team at Skywood Eco Adventure Park; Ontario’s largest Zip Line and Aerial Game Park on the 1000 Islands Parkway.

POSITION: GUIDE (Aerial Course, Zip Tours, Treewalk Village) (student)

HOURS OF WORK: Variable hours to a maximum of 36.25 hours per week

Skywood Eco Adventure Park, 1278 -1000 Islands Parkway

$12.25 per hour

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: August 4 to October 29, 2017

To work as a guide on a variety of aerial adventures including zip lines, aerial games parks, accessible zip tour, discovery/kids course and a children’s Treewalk Village. As a guide you will be primarily responsible for guiding participants through our courses. Duties include:
• Equipment checks
• Fitting customers with harnesses
• Providing orientation of the course to customers
• Guiding customers through the park and provide environmental interpretation of the site
• Assisting with traffic flow throughout the park
• Collecting fees, processing reservations
• Promoting visitor compliance to park rules and ensuring health and safety practices are in place at all times
• Site cleanup and general maintenance such as cleaning washrooms, emptying garbage etc.

We climb rain or shine so you must be willing to be outdoors regardless of weather conditions.

Must be at least 18 years of age. Good communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective product information and excellent customer service; ability to work effectively and with large volumes of customers during peak periods; ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess ability to assume responsibility and exercise initiative while working alone and/or in a team environment; ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required; possess personal commitment to Customer Service and Health and Safety. Valid emergency first aid and CPR certificate. Physical ability to use zip line and aerial park equipment and to tolerate heights to interact, guide and assist visitors. Note, candidates selected for an interview must complete a practical zip line tour to ensure ability to tolerate heights.
