MERCHANDISER CASHIER/ADMISSIONS CLERK (student) - Linguistic Skills, Mandarin
HOURS OF WORK:
36.25 hours per week
Upper Canada Village
(11 km east of Morrisburg)
$12.25 per hour
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:
June 1 to September 4, 2017
To assist the visitors to Upper Canada Village by providing excellent customer service in the front entrance area. Duties include operating a cash register and being responsible for cash, charges, refunds and foreign exchange, cash floats, paperwork, etc.; to be accountable for large sums of money; to perform admission sales and ticketing; to greet visitors and provide them with information regarding the site and daily activities; to conduct surveys; to assist the photographer by helping visitors dress up in period costumes. Successful candidates will rotate through a variety of positions: merchandiser/cashier in the Village Store, Admissions Clerk and Greeter at the front gate.
Possess linguistic skills in both English and Mandarin. Ability to work in teams; ability to adapt to different situations; ability to work under pressure in a busy area; good judgement in answering inquiries from the public; ability to problem-solve and find solutions; ability to entertain visitors and upsell products.
